Dr Weigen Huang is director of the Centre for Marine Remote Sensing & Numerical Modeling, deputy director of the Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED), and Principal Research Scientist at Second Institute of Oceanography (SIO), State Oceanic Administration (SOA), P. R. China.
He received his Ph.D. in marine remote sensing from the Dundee University, UK. Dr Huang is project coordinator of IOC/WESTPAC and member of OMISAR Steering Committee for the APEC region. He currently serves on the editorial board of four academic journals. Dr Huang has undertaken the basic and applied research in marine remote sensing technique and satellite oceanography.
In addition to his research duties, he teaches marine remote sensing technique and applications at SIO and the Ocean University of China.
He focus on remote sensing for LOICZ .
